Peninsula Training offers a range of leadership and management qualifications from two of the most well respected awarding bodies across the international field, OCR and ILM.
The qualifications offered include the full range of Management and Leadership level 3 and 5 award, certificate and diploma programmes. All Management and leadership programmes are delivered using up to date and current leadership best practice and approaches and learners will find learning with Peninsula a rewarding, engaging, thought provoking and developmental experience.
Programme Delivery
Each programme will have a set of mandatory and optional units of which learners will be supported to successfully achieve through live learning sessions, understandable assessment materials, on-going support via zoom / teams, email and telephone.
All courses can be delivered using on-line only, face to face or a blended approach to delivery.
The example below is an illustration of the mandatory units from the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership. It shows the key content and outcomes gained from these units. Learners would then complete a range of optional units to meet individual or organisational learning and development objectives in order to gain the full diploma.
Unit 1: Contribute to the development of a strategic plan
You will demonstrate how you have made viable contributions to strategic planning within your organisation. These contributions should be consistent with both strategic objectives and resource constraints.
You will also analyse and evaluate:
• Strategic planning models for effectiveness
• Analytical techniques
• Perspectives of, and approaches to, business strategy
• The range of factors affecting the development of strategic plans
• The application of scanning tools to strategy development
• The relationship between strategic intentions, strategic choice and strategy formulation
• The impact of a proposed strategy on a business
Unit 2: Design business processes
You will be required to complete an analysis of current processes using SWOT and PESTEL, a scoping exercise showing how improvements and constraints have been rigorously evaluated and developing a system for capturing information, You will demonstrate the use of a range of tools and describe the considerations you made in planning and implementing your proposed change or improvement to a business process.
Unit 3: Manage strategic change
Using work based examples of strategic change you have planned, managed and evaluated you
will:
• Describe the change management model you used
• Select an appropriate change management model
• Analyse stakeholder mapping techniques and develop a stakeholder engagement plan
• Provide examples of business continuity and crisis management factors
• Assess reasons for change in terms of scope and risk
• Evaluate the internal and external influences on change
• Identify implications of change on knowledge management systems and operational plans
Unit 4: Provide leadership and management
You will be required to demonstrate effective leadership and management. You will give examples of how you adapt plans, priorities and resource allocations to meet changing circumstances and priorities, how you secure ongoing commitment of stakeholders and colleagues, make planning and resourcing decisions, use delegation techniques - underpinned by a thorough understanding of the principles of leadership and management.
You will also analyse and evaluate:
• How leadership and management theories may be applied
• The influence of an organisations culture/structure on its leadership styles and management practices
• How theories of motivation may help
• The role of stakeholder engagement
