Course Dates Update
Learners can enroll on our level 6 courses on an on-going basis and can start the programme as an individual learner or as part of a group.
Group start dates are planned throughout the year with our next group starting in January 2025, course dates are below.

• Optional unit mini sessions agreed with individual learners and supported through one to one and pre-recorded input.
All courses can be delivered as an on-line only, face to face or using a blended learning approach to delivery.

The Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development has been specifically designed for those currently working, or preparing to work in professional roles providing career guidance and development to clients. It is aimed at those who are required to apply career guidance theories and models to practice in order to support clients to make realistic and informed decisions and plans regarding new learning or training opportunities and career planning. A core of mandatory units covers preparation for working in the careers guidance sector, awareness of career choice theories, and meeting the needs of clients. The wide range of optional units covers the diversity of roles undertaken by staff working in the sector.
This qualification aims to:
- provide professional development opportunities for those currently working in professional roles within the career guidance sector
- prepare candidates for employment in a professional career guidance role
- improve the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment in a career guidance role, whilst employed
- update the knowledge skills and understanding of those already employed in a career guidance role to improve their performance
The programme will be delivered using a number of workshop development sessions to ensure learners have opportunities to develop their knowledge. These can be delivered through a range of options including one to one sessions, groups of learners from the same institution or groups of learners through a consortia approach.
Assessment of practice will take place in the workplace and consist of observations of work, witness testimonies, written reports / case studies and product evidence.
